Doctors Are Warning: If You Use Aluminum Foil, Stop It Right Now And This is The Reason Why
Aluminum foil is found in almost every kitchen, and people use it for wrapping, cooking, and sometimes even for treating some common ailments. However, a recent study revealed that there are some important things that we do not know about this kitchen staple.
Let’s start with the fact that aluminum is a neurotoxic heavy metal that has severe side-effects on the function of the brain and has even been linked to Alzhemier’s disease.
The medical experts warn that the exposure to this heavy metal can lead to long-lasting adverse effects such as mental decline and loss of balance, coordination, memory, and bodily control.
The same study has shown that cooking with aluminum foil impacts the bones, since aluminum accumulates inside the bones and takes the space of calcium, reducing its levels.
According to researchers, inhaling aluminum particles leads to pulmonary fibrosis and other respiratory issues, so we need to avoid cooking with aluminum. The same goes for grilling, as it has the same effects.
Many people do not know that when aluminum foil is exposed to high temperatures, it emits parts of the metal itself into the food, and the heavy metal might leech in it.
Dr. Essam Zubaidy is a chemical engineering researcher at the American University of Sharjah and he has evaluated the impacts of aluminum on cooking and discovered that a meal that has been cooked in aluminum foil can contain up to 400 milligrams of aluminum.
In other words, the higher the temperature, the more the leaching. You should not use aluminum foil for cooking or use it with vegetables such as tomatoes, citrus juices, or spices.
The World Health Organization has set the RDA (recommended daily allowance) for aluminum, and it is limited to 60 milligrams a day.
